"Ecotourism, an alternative to development for everyone"
Through
this webquest, you have learned all about ecotourism: what it is, what
it is not, where ecotourism is popular, and what types of activities
are considered ecotouristic. You have even learned some tips on
how to be a responsible ecotourist! Nevertheless, you have only
scratched the surface of the magnitude of ecotourism and its increasing
impact upon our global society. Each of the countries that you
have studied make various and significant contributions to the
preservation of our environment through their ecotouristic practices.
The jury is still out on
whether ecotourism is a viable, profitable, and mutually beneficial way
to protect nature while improving the quality of life of the people in
these areas. I hope that through your research you have formed
your own opinion on this issue.
