Purpose and Goals of this Website
The purpose of this website is to provide prospective employers with information about my personal and professional qualifications. Spanish-Plaza serves as a showcase of my personal electronic portfolio and is a website that I use to post information and resources for my classes, as well as related links and pertinent references. All information on this site is to be used for educational purposes. I hope to engage students' interest in the acquisition of a second language through posted links, learning experiences, activities, and webquests.
The site exists as a professional portfolio and as a resource for my students and anyone else wishing to learn more about the Spanish language and educational technology. The material on this site may not be reproduced without permission of the author.
About the author: Dr. Kimberly Tohill holds 2 Bachelor
Arts Degrees from Susquehanna University - one in Spanish and one in
International Studies. Dr. Tohill received her Master of Education in Curriculum and
Instruction from Bloomsburg University in May 2005.
She earned her Ph.D. in Learning, Design, & Technology with a minor in Adult Education and a Distance Education Certification at Penn State University, University Park in 2016.
She has been teaching Spanish 1, 2, and 3 at Blue Mountain High School since 2005. In addition, Dr. Tohill teaches Spanish for Gifted LearningLinks through Northwestern University and is an adjunct professor for Penn State World Campus in Learning & Performance Systems.
Other professional credits include presentations at SITE 2007, 2008, 2013, 2016; PETE&C 2012 - 2017; GlobalTIME 2012, ISTE 2012, AACTE 2013, AERA 2013, and iPads in Higher Education, 2014.
